In Part I of this workshop for writers I will discuss the beginning process of writing a) the writing process. I will share my writing process, how to find time to write and what has worked for other authors. We will touch on othe ways to get the book written, such as ghostwriting and how it can work for some and the least expensive way to get things started; b) the editing process, I will share what is editing, the different types of editing, why it is important and the names of my editors. c) publishing: I will share my publishing experience as both a self-published and my experience with a mainstream publisher and the best information gleaned fromt he experience. By the end of the workshop you will be able to identify which route is best for you and what steps to take to get your manuscript done. A question and answer session will follow. 2 hours / 10 slots available $75
In Part II of this workshop on publishing we will focus mailing on self-publishing, starting your publishing house, about the publishing industry and difference between POD, Mainstream and independent, choosing the right printer, what pitfalls to avoid, preparing your book to go to press and marketing and promoting your book. A question and answer session will follow. A handout provided for all participants will give a step-by-step instruction and the contacts needed to start and finish the process. 2 hours / 10 slots available $75
In Part III of this workshop, we will cover areas on marketing and promtion, book clubs, the best venues to get the maximum exposure for the traveling buck and more. 1 hour / 10 slots available $50
